Two angels flee the pit, for their lives hang in the balance. Mighty wings grow weary. Every breath is laced with the taste of blood. The exit from the abyss grows closer with each agonizing heartbeat. However, danger gathers perilously close in order to prevent this valiant escape. If only they can make it through the last... few... yards...

With this image, I wished to illustrate a fleeting moment of hope drowning in sheer terror suspended in time.

Due to this image's suspenseful visual of the two angels struggling in desperation to escape, many people have asked me:

"Do they make it?"

After I have had a good laugh, I respond...

"I don't know... Do they?"
