I created this image for the sheer delight of painting an unusual image. A witty battle of chess between an oriental dragon and a samurai. It looks so calm an peaceful until you realize the game means sudden death to the loser. This captures the moment when the possiblity of losing creeps into their thoughts. That would certainly explain the look of anguish and extreme concentration on their faces... don't you think?
